Sprouted Lentil Adai Recipe

Sprouted Lentil Adai, is probably the healthiest breakfast that I dish out at my place. As always I attempt to give a healthy twist to my food and here too I am giving a healthy twist to the usual Adai(Lentil Crepes).

I always wanted my child to eat some sprouts in her morning breakfast so adding sprouts in the Adai worked awesome for me as my little girl joyfully munched on it, which otherwise would have been difficult. Also  eating sprouts is considered to be a good for diabetics too.

Ingredients:

Boiled Rice: 3 cups

Sprouted Black Chana: 1 cups

Sprouted Urad: 1/2 cup

Tur Dal: 2 tbsp

Moong Dal: 2 tbsp

Oil

Curry Leaves: 2 springs

Fennel Seeds: 1 tbsp

Pepper: 1/2 tbsp

Red Chilies: 4

Green Chilies: 2

Method:

1) Wash and soak the rice and dals separately for 4 hours.

2) Grind the rice first. Then add the dal’s, chilies, sprouts, red chili and grind to a smooth paste.

3) Add salt, curry leaves, hing, grated ginger, turmeric, and mix well.

5) To make the adai’s,  heat a tava. When moderately hot, spoon a ladleful of this batter onto the middle of the tava. Spread like a dosa, but slightly thicker than normal dosa

6) Drizzle oil around the sides. Cook on both sides and serve with curds and any pickle of your choice.

Sprouted Lentil Adail Recipe

Sprouted Lentil Adai is probably the healthiest breakfast that I dish out at my place. My attempt as always is to try and give a healthy twist to my food, to the usual adai(lentil crepes), which I have found works awesome as my little girl loves to munch on it.

While the normal way of making Adai is using soaked moong dal, since I grow sprouts at my home I thought why not try making adai using sprouts.
